Due to the cold weather, tea grows comparatively slower, with leaf picking occurring only at the end of spring and autumn. With production so scarce, price for real Da Yu Ling has been extraordinary.

There is a great temperature difference between day and night in the tea area of Da Yu Ling, with rich substance in the soil content.
